clickfrenzy.com.au take 2!

Apparently "Click Frenzy returns" They say they have up graded the site and this article sums up what went on last year.

It is going to be fascinating to see if they can manage a decent pounding as it looks as though they are using AmazonS3 and Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud*. Although the front end of the current site is still using apache.

If they have put the nuts and bolts together well with regard the way they have set up Amazon it should be ok, especially since that is a technology that is designed for this sort of thing and Amazon now have a presence in Australia (Sydney). The big clincher will be how much they have allocated for? Using a traditional approach - my guess is you would need the equivalent of 10-15 virtual machines to manage that sort of initial 1.5 million hit that they will probably get in about the first 10 minutes.

Have they done enough homework? This will be interesting!
